Posted on November 4, 2019 by philipp

Despite a 3-0 lead after the first the Netherlands also lost their second game at the Premier12, 4-14 to the Dominican Republic on Sunday. Roger Bernadina and Chadwick Tromp had opened the game with home runs in the first against Ervin Santana. But afterwards their offense went silent. Orlando Yntema took the loss in relief of Jair Jurrjens. Alfredo Marte and Edwin Espinal combined for seven RBI for the Dominican team.

In the evening game in Guadalajara Mexico earned their second victory with an 8-2 win against the United States. A passed ball gave Mexico the lead back in the fifth. Five runs in the eighth blew the score wide open. Roman Solis had three RBI for Mexican. Felipe Gonzalez picked up the win. Tanner Houck got charged with the loss.

The United States dropped to 1-1 and will play the Dominican Republic in a matchup to earn promotion to the Super Round. The Netherlands are already eliminated prior to their last first-round game against Mexico.
