2011 All-Star Game in Dutch Hoofdklasse in Utrecht

Posted on February 19, 2011February 19, 2011 by philipp

The Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) announced on Friday that the 2011 All-Star Game in the Dutch Hoofdklasse will be played in Utrecht and hosted by the promoted UVV. The event is going to have a “green” character, as organizers will try to use mainly biologically sound products. It will take place on Sunday, June 19, just a few days before the World Port Tournament in Rotterdam.

UVV has returned to the Hoofdklasse for the first time since 1988 and hopes to play a good role with new players Danny Rombley, Orlando Yntema and Jurjen van Zijl. The KNBSB had started the tradition of an All-Star Game last summer, when the south beat the north 7-4 in a tight contest. Dwayne Kemp was named MVP in The Hague. ADO also submitted a bid to host the 2011 edition, but the KNBSB decided to hold it in Utrecht.
