16-year-old Dutch outfielder Darryl Collins of the Dutch Hoofdklasse club Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam has signed a minor league contract with the Kansas City Royals. He will remain with the team until the completion of the 2018 season. He is the grandson of former Neptunus player and current bench coach Jan Collins. He was part of the Netherlands team, which won the 2018 U18 European Championship in Grosseto. During the regular season in the Hoofdklasse he was batting .418/.510/.532 with six extra base hits, 13 runs and 14 RBI in 28 games (23 starts).
