Ukraine wins European Championship Junior Qualifier in Miejska

The Ukraine won the decisive game on Saturday 5-2 against Poland, taking the title at the European Championship Junior Qualifier in Miejska, Poland. They clinched the berth for the European Championship Junior, which takes place in August 2009 in Bonn, Germany. Last week, Belgium took home the victory in the first Qualifier, played in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The Ukraine won every of the five games this past week, outscoring their opponents Lithuania, Poland, Croatia and Bulgaria 44-21.
