After winning game one on Saturday, STOCKHOLM didn’t wasted time on Sunday to extend the lead in the best-of-five series of the Swedish Finals to 2-0. They scored four runs in the first en route to an 8-2 victory against 2007 champion KARLSKOGA. The series resumes next weekend at the home ballpark of the BATS.
The STOCKHOLM offense pounded BATS starter Kent Karlsson (L 1-1), who allowed a whopping 16 hits, eight runs (7 ER) and a walk in 7 2/3 innings. Peter Johannesen, Andy Berglund and Henrik Rundgren each had three hits for the home team. Johannesen had a triple, two runs and a RBI in the leadoff spot. Eight of the nine batters had at least a hit, seven scored, seven had a RBI.
Stefan Fahlin and Dennis Kelly went two for four for KARLSKOGA, which didn’t get much going on the offensive side either. Joakim Claesson (W 1-0) mostly shut them down, when he got into trouble. The starter pitched the complete game, giving up just two runs (1 ER) on eight hits. He struck out five.
