Stockholm wins Game 1 in Swedish Finals

Tom Gillespie pitched six brilliant innings to lead STOCKHOLM to a 6-2 victory against KARLSKOGA in game one of the best-of-five Swedish Finals. He allowed just two hits, one unearned run and two walks for his second victory in the Elitserien playoffs 2008. He struck out two.
The BATS actually scored first in the opening frame, but the home team came back, evened the score in the second and took the lead for good in the fourth. They added four insurance runs to seal the win. Johan Lindgren went two for four with two RBIs. Björn Johannesen, Andy Berglund and Petter Diurlin each drove in one. Dennis Kelly reached base in three of his four plate appearances and scored both KARLSKOGA runs.
Adam Sowell took the loss, giving up six hits, four runs (3 ER) and two base on balls in six innings. He got four strikeouts.
Game two is scheduled for today at 12:00 CET in Stockholm, before the series switches its site to Karlskoga next weekend.
