Just a few days after hitting grand slams on consecutive days, Italian third baseman Alex Liddi has left the Major League training camp. The Seattle Mariners optioned him to Triple-A Tacoma, indicating that he will start at this level this season. He batted .385/.429/.846 with two homeruns, three runs and eight RBI in eight games this spring. He played in Double-A last year.
