The first day of the Baseball tournament at the Olympics in Beijing is in the books. South Korea won an exciting match against team USA, which went back and forth till the last pitch. Cuba also made a statement with their 4-2 victory over Japan, showing why they have won three gold medals in the four Olympic events so far. In the morning Canada and Taiwan had opened with easy shutouts versus China and the Netherlands. Tomorrow the lone European participant faces a tough test, as they are challenged by the United States.
