The 23-year-old infielder Henrik Johansson joins the reigning Swedish vice champion KARLSKOGA BATS for the upcoming season. He is coming from the SKOEVDE SAINTS, which last played in the Elitserien in 2005. He is the second player from SKOEVDE after Michael Andersson, who strengthens the roster of the BATS this winter. Johansson played for the NARANGA DEMONS in Queensland, Australia this winter. He will primarily used as a shortstop.
In addition the BATS announced a change at the top of the coaching staff last week. Jesper Joelsson, who served as head coach in 2008, will return to the field as an active player. Dennis Kelly takes over at the helm, after being an assistant coach last season. Joelsson will remain in the coaching staff as an assistant coach.
