2009 in Review – Dutch Hoofdklasse – Konica Minolta Pioniers

During the next couple of weeks, maybe months, we are going to look back at the 2009 season. We will start with the Dutch Hoofdklasse.

2009 Final Ranking: 3rd Place in Regular Season. 2nd Place in Final Standings after losing the Holland Series against DOOR NEPTUNUS in four games. They also finished in second in 2006 and 2007.

Best Batter: Mark Duursma. The catcher batted .307 (OBP .451/SLG .367) with 29 runs scored and 31 RBI in 42 games.

Best Pitcher: Ryan Murphy. The right-hander was a league-leading 10-2 with an ERA of 0.89 in 16 starts this year. He struck out 104 batters in 110 2/3 innings, while walking just 15.
