2009 in Review – Austrian Baseball League – Vienna Diving Ducks



Even though we already started the year 2010, we will continue to look back at the 2009 season in Europe’s elite leagues. After the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic and Sweden, we will continue with the Austrian Baseball League.

Vienna Diving Ducks

2009 Record: 8-20
2009 Ranking: 7th in Austrian Baseball League after the regular season. During the promotion/relegation round the Diving Ducks were ranked third out of four teams with a 5-7 record and got relegated into the second division in Austrian Baseball.
Runs Scored: 141
Runs Allowed: 236

Best Batter: Jason Wall. He batted .400 (OBP .451/SLG .543) with two homeruns, four doubles, 14 runs scored and 13 RBI in 18 games.
Best OPS: Jason Wall .994
Most Home Runs: Julio Diaz 3
Most RBI: Julio Diaz 18
Most Runs Scored: Julio Diaz 22
Most Stolen Bases: Julio Diaz 15

Best Pitcher: Jason Wall. He had a 2-1 record with an ERA of 2.17 in four games for the Ducks. He struck out 25 batters in 29 innings, walking eight.

Most Strikeouts: Clemens Seiser 51
Most Walks: Clemens Seiser 72
Most Innings Pitched: Clemens Seiser 88.2
