The German Baseball-Bundesliga club Bonn Capitals have announced the signing of Erik Brenk for the upcoming season. The American with German passport is coming from the Bad Homburg Hornets. He had joined the southern division team midway through the year and then even made the roster for the German National Team for the European Championship in Regensburg and the Czech Republic. Meanwhile Moritz Sckaer has retired from his active career. The right-handed pitcher, who played 17 years for the Cologne Cardinals and the last four for the Capitals, battled shoulder problems in recent seasons cited professional obligations off the field as reason for the decision.
