The regular season in Major League Baseball ended in exciting fashion on Wednesday. The New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers and Oakland Athletics won the divisions in the American League, while the Washington Nationals (with Roger Bernadina and former Dutch national team manager Davey Johnson), Cincinnati Reds (with Mariekson Gregorius) and San Francisco Giants (with hitting coach Hensley Meulens) prevailed in the National League.
Additionally four teams clinched a wild card and will square off tonight in two “play-in” games to advance to the Division Series. At 5pm CET the Atlanta Braves (Andrelton Simmons) will face the St. Louis Cardinals and at 2.30am CET on Saturday morning the Texas Rangers take on the Baltimore Orioles. The Division Series will then start on Saturday and Sunday. As usual you can watch all games live via MLB.tv and ESPN America throughout Europe.
