Posted on June 26, 2012June 26, 2012 by philipp

Former Major League pitcher Greg McCarthy, who is playing and coaching in the Czech Republic since a couple of years, helped out as a guest instructor at a Polish camp for pitching and training this weekend. The Polish national team met for a training camp in preparation for their participation in the Prague Baseball Week, which starts tomorrow.

The 43-year-old McCarthy made 76 relief appearances for the Seattle Mariners at the Major League level between 1996 and 1998, pitching to an ERA of 4.74. He came to Europe briefly joining the Athletics Attnang-Puchheim in Austria as head coach before going to AVG Draci Brno in the Czech Extraleague. This winter he moved on to the Arrows Ostrava.
