Jeremy Guthrie, Roger Bernadina first Major Leaguers confirmed for European Big League Tour

Right-handed pitcher Jeremy Guthrie of the Kansas City Royals and outfielder Roger Bernadina of the Washington Nationals have been the first Major Leaguers to be confirmed for the 2012 European Big League Tour besides initiator Rick van den Hurk. Guthrie already participated in 2010; Bernadina has been with the tour in 2010 and 2011. More players will be announced later for the EBLT, which will make stops in Rotterdam, Netherlands and London, England from November 10 to 17. Registration for the free baseball clinics is open via the official website www.europeanbigleaguetour.com.

About the European Big League Tour
This November, Dutch Major Leaguer Rick van den Hurk and his European Big League Tour (EBLT) return to The Netherlands. The third edition of the EBLT is not only providing free clinics in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, but also in London, United Kingdom. Under the guidance of Rick and his fellow Major League players, young baseball fanatics will learn more about the ‘art of fielding, pitching, catching and hitting’. All participants will also have the opportunity to ask all of their questions during a ‘Question and Answer’ session. At each clinic-station the Big Leaguers will receive help from players from the Dutch National Team. Therefore the best entourage is created to learn more about baseball. Van den Hurk’s initiative is supported by Major League Baseball (MLB) and Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA).
