The German Baseball-Bundesliga club HAAR DISCIPLES added two new players to the roster for the 2009 season a few days before the end of the year. C/3B Stefan Mueller and SS/P Lukas Steinlein both played for the INGOLSTADT SCHANZER in the 2nd Baseball-Bundesliga this year. They follow Chris Dresel, who is taking over as head coach of the DISCIPLES next season. HAAR also brought back David Selsemeyer and signed Ty Eriksen as assistant coach.
The 25-year-old Mueller is also going to support Dresel in the coaching staff. He batted .224 (OBP .357/SLG .254) with twelve runs scored and eight RBI in 2008. Steinlein is 17 years old and had a batting average of .313 (.431/.386) with 30 runs and 14 RBI. He will also strengthen the pitching staff. He posted a 1-2 record with five saves and an ERA of 3.13 in 14 games (one start) for INGOLSTADT. He struck out 29 in 23 innings, while walking 20. Opponents batted .152 against him.
