France defeated Belgium 9-8 in a back-and-forth battle at Paperclip Stadium in Utrecht on Sunday afternoon. Frederic Hanvi decided the outcome with a walk-off homerun in the bottom of the ninth inning. Belgium just had tied the contest on a double play grounder in the top of the frame. Hanvi ended the day with four hits, three runs and three RBI. Luc Piquet doubled and tripled to drive in four runs for France. De Quint reached base four times, scored twice and drove in two. Pierrick Lemestre got the win, Yannick Gontier the loss.
