So far it seems as if IBAF Baseball World Cup winner the Netherlands is unstoppable at the 2012 European Championship. After a 17-0 shutout over Belgium on Friday, the Dutch team dismantled France 15-0 in five innings. Seven runs in the first and four each in the third and fourth led to an early ending due to 15-run mercy rule. Michael Duursma went 2-for-2 with a base on balls, a hit by pitch, three runs scored and three RBI. Danny Rombley and Nick Urbanus also each crossed the plate three times. Rob Cordemans cruised through five scoreless four-hit innings for the win. He struck out eight. France used Quentin Pourcel as starter, who lasted just two outs in the first, being charged with six runs (4 ER) on two hits and three walks.
