Dave Schuler – Colorado Rockies
35 years in professional baseball, 23 coaching in pitching- rich organizations: New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, and Colorado Rockies.
Atlanta Braves Rehabilitation Coordinator, (2005), assisting to return seventeen post-operative pitchers, with shoulder and elbow surgeries, back to game- competition in a 160-day rehabilitation program.
Pitched in both the American and National Leagues, facing hall-of-famer George Brett in Sept. 29, 1979 debut in Kansas City.
Has had over 100 Major League pitchers pass through his hands developing in the Minor Leagues; notably Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte, Eric Bedard, Sterling Hitchcock, and John Maine, winning seven league championships in ten countries, including Taiwan Major Leagues.
Member of Team USA for the first World Championship Team (1973) in Central America.
Currently pitching coach for the AA Tulsa Drillers in the Texas League where he has led Tulsa to a TL-leading 3.32 ERA. In second season with Drillers. Spent 2010 as Asheville’s pitching coach. Was a pitching coach in Yankees organization for seven seasons. Schuler pitched in the majors with the Angels in 1979-80 and Atlanta in 1985. Pitched in TL in 1977 with El Paso. Graduated from the University of New Haven.
