The Netherlands once again will be representing European baseball at the Women’s Baseball World Cup this year. The tournament from September 1 to 7, 2014 is expected to trump all previous Women’s Baseball events with Miyazaki, Japan hosting it in the country of the lone professional Women’s Baseball League.
The Dutch Team got revealed this week. It includes 17 players. With new head coach Eddie Dix, who is succeeding Percy Isenia, they will travel to Japan already on August 24 for a training camp on site with a series of exhibition games against college teams. In 2012 in Edmonton, Canada the Netherlands earned their first international win and finished in seventh place. This year fifth is the goal for manager Ivette van Putten according to Honkbalsite.com.
