On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of March a CEB-umpires clinic was held in Żory Poland. It was part of the yearly umpire weekend of the Polish federation. In total 35 umpires participated of which about 25 were experienced umpires. The whole Saturday was dedicated to practical training. This included making calls, working the plate including basic and advanced mechanics, field umpire mechanics focusing on two-men system, communication between umpires, pre-game conference, dealing with managers, etc.
On Sunday the focus was on explaining the different balk situations and how they could be recognized, the designated hitter rule, and answering questions from the participants. At the beginning of the morning the participants had to make their yearly exam to check their knowledge of the rules.
