Italian Teams, New Zealand win Women’s Softball European Cups 2018

Last week three Women’s Fastpitch Softball European Cups were played. Bussolengo defeated Zraloci Ledenice 3-0 in the final at the Women’s European Premiere Cup in Forli, Italy. Bussolengo reached the page playoffs with a 7-1 record, as did Forli and Olympia Haarlem. Bussolengo stormed past Forli 11-1 to reach the final. Ledenice, which entered the playoffs as fourth seed, beat Olympia Haarlem 2-1 in eight innings and Forli 4-3 to reach the championship game.

Bollate Tecnovap Innovi edged out Sparks Haarlem 1-0 in the final game of the Women’s European Cup Winners Cup in Capelle, Netherlands. Bollate lost only one game en route to the final. In an exciting semi-final game in the page playoffs they beat Sparks Haarlem 1-0 in nine innings to reach the final. Haarlem then prevailed 4-1 over Joudrs Praha to get to the final as well. The Wesseling Vermins finished in fourth place.

ISA from New Zealand won the Women’s European Cup in La Loggia, Italy, the B-Pool competition at Women’s European Cups. They shut out the Trnava Panthers first 7-0 to reach the final and then beat the Panthers 5-1 in the championship game. Trnava had defeated the Witches Linz 2-1 to reach the final as well. Princ Zagreb finished in fourth place.
