Baseball Germany Game Report 11

Posted on July 28, 2007April 9, 2021 by MrBB

The Solingen Alligators (20-2) have clinched the North Division title and will end the regular season on Sunday with a pair of game against the HSV Stealers (7-14). The Alligators mauled winless Hannover last week, 10-0 and 15-1.

The Paderborn Untouchables (17-7) have secured the #2 seed in the North followed by the #3 Bonn Capitals (16-8) and the fourth seeded Cologne Cardinals (14-9). Cologne meets HSV on Saturday to close out their regular season.

The four playoff teams in the South Division will meet in key games on the last weekend of the season. The Mainz Athletics (19-7) battle division-leading Regensburg (21-4) with thoughts of dashing the Legionare title hopes. Regensburg needs one win to clinch the South crown but two Mainz wins and a loss by Regensburg on Sunday would leave both contenders with identical 21-7 records.

The #4 seed Mannheim Tornados (16-10) will be looking to improve their playoff position when they battle #3 Heidenheim (16-9) on Saturday. Heidenheim still must face Regensburg the next day before their regular season ends. Two victories would earn the Tornados the #3 seed and avoid a first round meeting with Solingen.
