Free agent outfielder Andruw Jones, who again is going to play for the Netherlands at the 2013 World Baseball Classic, is rumored to leave Major League Baseball to join the Rakuten Golden Eagles in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball. According to the report by NPB Tracker he will be official announced following taking a physical. He is expected to make $3,5 million. He joins fellow Willemstad, Curacao native Wladimir Balentien who is playing in NPB since the 2011 season. Jones has spent 17 years in the Majors, batting .254/.337/.486 with 434 homeruns for the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees.
