Italian third baseman Alex Liddi is seeing increased playing time with the Seattle Mariners in recent days. He has played every other day and paid back the faith of his manager with his best game of the 2012 season. On Tuesday he went 3-for-5 with his first homerun of the year in a 7-4 win against the Detroit Tigers. He played first base, getting the start over Justin Smoak. He is now batting .368/.429/.579 in 19 at-bats through six games.
