In just his third appearance in Nippon Professional Baseball Italian right-hander Alessandro Maestri threw a complete game to lead his ORIX Buffaloes to a 7-1 win on Sunday over the Saitama Seibu Lions. He allowed just one run on four hits in nine innings, striking out 11 for his second win in three starts. Overall he is now 2-1 with an ERA of 1.77 in three games. He has struck out 19 batters in 20 1/3 innings, walking just two.
