The Brisbane Bandits continue to stifle the Canberra Cavalry, as their series resumed on Saturday. The Bandits prevailed in both ends of a doubleheader. In game one Brisbane celebrated a 3-0 shutout. James Schult and Justin Erasmus combined to throw a seven-inning five-hitter. Rory Rhodes drove in two of the three runs. Robert Dickmann was charged with the loss.
In the second match the Bandits scored six runs in the first four innings en route to a 10-5 victory. Andrew Campbell and Joshua Roberts (4 RBI) hit homeruns for Brisbane. Adam Buschini, Jeremy Barnes and Aaron Sloan connected for the Cavalry. Ryan Searle struck out nine in six solid innings for the win. Chris Motta took the loss, allowing six runs on eight hits and three walks in four frames.
The Sydney Blue Sox downed the Melbourne Aces 5-4. Three runs in the fifth tied the game for the Blue Sox. Two runs in the seventh were enough for the win. Geoffrey Klein had three hits, two runs and a RBI. Josh Davies drove in three runs for Melbourne. Brad Thomas got the win after six innings. Adam Bright took the loss.
The Perth Heat scored in four of the first six innings to beat the Adelaide Bite 7-3. Brenden Webb homered for Perth and scored twice. Josh McGee also crossed the plate two times. Jack Frawley received the win after 3 2/3 innings of relief. Paul Mildren took his sixth loss of the season, surrendering four hits, three runs and four walks in four innings.
