Aaron Dunsmore joins Heidenheim Heidekoepfe

26-year-old Canadian utility player Aaron Dunsmore is joining the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe for the upcoming season. The former NCAA Division I player is coming from the independent club Red Deer Riggers to the reigning German vice champion. Besides playing independent league ball in Canada, he also played in Australia and in Sweden, where he suited up for the Karlskoga Bats in the 2013 season.

With the Canadian national team Dunsmore participated in the 2010 World University Games in Tokyo in 2010 and in the World Baseball Challenge 2013. With the Heidekoepfe he replaces Andrew Smith as middle of the order bat, who will remain in the United States. Additionally he will supplement Simon Guehring behind the plate and will serve as coach for the Junior team of the club.
