Venezuela one-hit South Korea on Friday in Haarlem, won 4-1, and both teams now are tied with 2-3 records in Pool F. Orlando Perdomo started and didn’t allow a hit in five innings, but gave up a run and six walks. Robert Zarate (W 1-0) and Jose Rodriguez completed the one-hitter.

Venezuela took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a RBI bunt single by Jonathan Sivira. South Korea evened the score in the top of the fourth, when Perdomo loaded the bases with two walks and a hit by pitch and Jong-Wook Ko crossed the plate on a double play groundball to short. Dirimo Chavez put Venezuela back on top with a solo homerun in the sixth. They added two more runs in the eighth to seal the win.

Kyung-Eun Noh took the loss after five-plus innings, three hits, two runs and two bb.
