The Korean players did their job. They defeated Germany 8-1 to better their record to 4-3. They now have to wait and hope, that Canada loses to Australia. It is the only chance to advance to the next round, because the Dutch surprised with a win against Cuba and has gone to 5-2.

South Korea scored in five of the first eight innings and cruised to an easy win. Germany got on the board in the fifth.

Jae Woong YOO (2 RBI) hit a homerun. Ji Wan NA, Ki Nam PARK and Han Joon YOO had two RBI too.

Jendrick SPEER got the only RBI for the Germans with a sac fly.

Jung-Min LEE (W 1-0) allowed three hits, one run and a walk in five innings. He struck out three.

Tim Henkenjohann (L 0-2) gave up nine hits, seven runs (5 ER) and three base on balls in 6 2/3 innings, striking out five. Rodney GESSMANN relieved him and was charged with one run on two hits and two base on balls in 1 1/3 innings. Philipp HOFFSCHILD and Mirko HEID also appeared in the game.
