Czech Republic targets subway stations and main highways to promote the 2009 World Cup
As part of the preparation of the 2009 Baseball World Cup in the Czech Republic, there is an extended marketing campaign.
Recently, we have placed billboards all over the Czech Republic promoting the World Cup. People can find these especially in cities where baseball has been played and has had a long tradition there. In our capital city of Prague, where the World Cup will take place, citizens and visitors may see a lot of city lights. They are situated near the metro stations or directly in the metro. We have also several tarps with advertisement hanging on the fences of our local clubs from the highest level of baseball competition. At the end of August and at the beginning of September there will be posters and leaflets in metro and trams in Prague.
Moreover, there is a continued effort to provide posters and leaflets to elite level Czech baseball clubs. Also, we intend to give these promotional items to embassies of countries participating in the first round in the Czech Republic. We have cooperated with the Mexico embassy that placed our banner to their websites, which is a really big help for us. Our aim is to invite as many foreigners living in the Czech Republic as possible, especially nations whose teams are participating (Australia, Chinese Taipei and Mexico) but also others, of course.
As for press, advertisements can be seen in the periodical of the city of Prague. Another one is in MVPmag magazine whose September issue will focus on just the World Cup. There is also mention of the World Cup in Sport zona, the Czech sport magazine. Last but not least we also have an agreement with various newspapers that place our articles in newspapers.
Furthermore, Czech TV made a signature which is broadcasted every day on TV. This enables Czech TV to raise awareness about the tournament for the whole country. This is exactly what we want.
We will go to Regensburg from Hungary in September.
One day we will visit Prague.
So at least four hungarian baseball freaks will be there…
