IBL Playoffs: San Marino rallies from nine down to beat Bologna

After four innings, FORTITUDO led 9-0 and it looked like an easy win for the regular season winner in the Italian Baseball League. However SAN MARINO came back, cutting the deficit to 6-9 after seven innings and turned the score into their favor with a four-run rally in the eighth. Max De Biase capped the rally with a two-run single. Carlos Duran drove in four. David Sheldon hit a homerun and scored three times. Richard Austin went deep twice for BOLOGNA, driving in five runs. Claudio Liverziani reached five times and crossed the plate thrice. Fabio Betto (BOL) allowed six hits, three runs and a walk in six innings. Luca Martignoni (SMA) gave up two hits, five runs (4 ER) and four bb in 2 1/3 innings. Mauro Schiavoni picked up the win, Fabio Milano took the loss.

RIMINI picked up win number three in the semi-final round with a 6-2 win in PARMA on Wednesday evening. Filippo Crociati led the way by going five-for-five with two runs scored and three RBI. Sandy Patrone got the win, issuing just one run on eight hits and a walk in 5 1/3 innings. Roberto Corradini surrendered eight hits, four runs and two bb in 3 2/3 innings.
