South Korea upsets Venezuela with shutout

Posted on November 8, 2007November 8, 2007 by philipp

Despite the fact, that their best players are not on the roster, the South Korean team is off to a good start into the World Cup of Baseball in Taipei. The pitchers held their opponent bats in check for the second straight day, as they celebrated a 4-0 shutout against Venezuela.

Korea took the lead in the sixth frame and added three insurance runs one inning later. Venezuela mustered just six hits and could not score.

Kim JOO-CHAN and Lee SEUNG-HWA hit homeruns.

Lee SEUNG-HO (W 1-0) continued the strong pitching performance of Wednesday by his team mates and earned the win.

Jesus YEPES (L 0-1) received no run support and had to take the loss.
