
La Guerche Hawks – Rouen Huskies 2-9, 9-15
The HAWKS couldn’t stop the HUSKIES in the French Elite League last weekend and now need to win both games in SAVIGNY on the last official game day of the regular season.

In game one ROUEN used a six-run fifth to beat LA GUERCHE 9-2. Dany Scalabrini and David Gauthier did the most damage with a two-run single and a three-run homerun. Olivier Israel scored three times. Mathieu Brau hit a two-run homerun for the HAWKS in the ninth to avoid the shutout. Keino Perez picked up the win with a complete game, allowing ten hits, two runs (1 ER) and two bb. Anthony Piquet gave up ten hits, eight runs and two walks in six innings. Both starters struck out two.

In the second match the HUSKIES scored nine runs in the last three frames to overcome a 6-9 deficit after five innings en route to a 15-9 win. Virgile Roux, Romains Legras and Brau each scored twice for LA GUERCHE. But it was not enough, as Kenji Hagiwara homered, scored three times and drove in three for ROUEN. Boris Marche crossed the plate twice. Quentin Becquey started for the HUSKIES, giving up seven hits, seven runs (6 ER) and two bb in 3 1/3 innings. Ely Surais began for the HAWKS, conceding six runs (3 ER) on six hits and five walks in five innings. Joris Bert struck out seven in 5 2/3 innings of relief for the win. Sebastien Vezina took the loss.
