European Championship Cadets starts on Tuesday in Brno, Czech Republic

Posted on July 6, 2009 by philipp

This summer three European Championships plus two Qualifiers at the youth level are scheduled. On Tuesday the Cadets tournament begins in Brno, Czech Republic. Eight teams will battle for first place at the ballpark of the reigning Czech champion AVG DRACI BRNO and the Kravi Hora Field. In 2008 in Rome, Italy the Netherlands captured the title with a thrilling 7-6 win in eight innings over Russia in the finals, overcoming a 0-6 deficit. The Czech Republic and Italy completed the top four.

The eight teams this year are split into two groups and will play a round robin preliminary round until Thursday. The semi-finals and the first classification round games are scheduled for Friday. On Saturday the best two teams conclude the championship with the final. Czech national TV will broadcast the three first round games of the Czech team, one semi-final and the final.

Schedule Day 1:

10:00 Russia – Slovakia
14:30 Italy – Germany
15:00 Netherlands – Ukraine
19:00 Czech Republic – Austria
