Results Czech Baseball Cup Quarterfinals June 14

Posted on June 16, 2009 by philipp

On Sunday the quarterfinals in the Czech Baseball Cup took place. In the duel between the two first-ranked clubs in the Extraleague, AVG DRACI BRNO prevailed 5-3 against TECHNIKA BRNO. Petr Minarik and Wayne Ough split time on the mound for the DRAGONS. Blake Cunningham started for TECHNIKA and was later replaced by Daniel Mraz.

Two other Extraleague clubs reached the final four, which will be played from September 18th to 20th. The TEMPO TITANS crushed the NUCLEARS 21-9 and MZLU EXPRESS was able to prevail 13-2 in seven innings against the ANGELS TRNAVA from Slovakia, which were in the tournament due to an agreement between the two federations. The second-division team KOTLARKA PRAGUE surprised the Extraleague club PATRIOTS LIBEREC with a 4-3 win in 15 innings. KOTLARKA now matches the feat of LIBEREC, which had reached the final four last year as a second-division team.

Results:
AVG Draci Brno – Technika Brno 5:3
Třebíč Nuclears – Tempo Titans Praha 9:21
Kotlářka Praha – Patriots Liberec 4:3 (15)
Angels Trnava (SVK) – Express Brno 2:13 (7)
