Originally it was planned that RIMINI and GROSSETO will meet on June 20 to make up the rainout of ten days ago. However due to unknown reasons, the teams rescheduled the game again and played already on Tuesday evening. The PIRATES started strong and took a 6-0 lead thru four innings en route to an easy 7-2 win. Jack Santora and Danny Gonzalez formed an effective 1-2 punch at the top of the batting order, each going two-for-four with a walk, two runs scored and a RBI.
Michele Quattrini dominated on the mound, allowing just three hits and a bb in five scoreless innings. He struck out six and threw 49 of his 77 pitches for strikes. Michael Zambelli took the loss, surrendering eight hits, six runs (4 ER) and five walks in four innings. Andrea De Santis and Raul Marval scored the runs for MONTEPASCHI in the eighth.

The Italian Baseball League resumes play on Thursday, when T&A SAN MARINO will host FORTITUDO BOLOGNA to open week ten. It is a matchup between the fourth and the second in the standings. One day later leader RIMINI is starting a three-game series against DANESI NETTUNO, which is in third place right now after having lost two out of three against BOLOGNA a week ago. GROSSETO is playing against CARIPARMA, while DE ANGELIS GODO and PALFINGER REGGIO EMILIA battle for seventh.
