Results German Baseball-Bundesliga June 6&7

Posted on June 7, 2009 by philipp

The game day on June 6 and 7 in the German Baseball-Bundesliga featured rain outs and interesting wins. In the north the teams in third and fourth, DORTMUND and the HSV, settled for a split on Saturday and both profited from two stunning losses by the CARDINALS in PULHEIM on Sunday. The WANDERERS now have clinched a spot in the playoffs definitely. The STEALERS have a two-game lead over COLOGNE and can book the trip to the postseason next week in a showdown with the CARDS at home.

In the south the DISCIPLES made things interesting in SAARLOUIS, winning game one of their doubleheader on a ninth-inning run. The HORNETS barely prevailed in the second match, moving into fourth place by percentage points. The two-game set between the ATHLETICS and the HEIDEKOEPFE was rained out on Saturday. Still, next week’s matchup between MAINZ and the HORNETS probably will decide the playoff race in the south.

More on all matchups later this week
