FORTITUDO tied the series against RIMINI on Friday evening with a 10-3 win. They took a fast 3-0 lead in the first thanks to RBI singles by Eddy Garabito and Matt Stocco. Both players were again in the middle of the scoring in the fifth, putting five more runs on the board. Garabito walked with the bases loaded to force in another run. Next up was Stocco, who drove the ball over the fence in leftfield for a grand slam and an 8-1 advantage. They scored two more runs in the eighth to seal the victory. TELEMARKET scored their runs on solo homeruns by Eddie Rios (2) and Ivanon Coffie. Yulman Ribeiro picked up the win with six-plus solid innings, allowing six hits, two runs and two walks. Chris Di Roma took the loss, conceding three hits, six runs (5 ER) and five bb in 4 2/3 innings.

SAN MARINO won game one of their duel against GROSSETO 4-1. Martin Vasquez put them in front in the third with a RBI single. One frame later they added three more runs on RBIs by Carlos Duran, Ardley Jansen and Simone Albanese. Andrea De Santis denied the shutout bid with a RBI double in the seventh. Horacio Estrada gave up six hits, a run and three walks in seven innings for the win. Juan Figueroa took the loss against his former team, being charged with five hits, four runs and four bb in five innings.

GODO celebrated a 3-2 victory on Friday evening thanks to an error by right fielder Johnny Balentina, who misplayed a flyball by Robert De Francheschi (3-4, 2 runs), allowing Francesco Fuzzi to score from third. PARMA scored on home runs by Balentina and Riccardo Bertagnon. James Ricchio got the start for GODO and allowed six hits, two runs and two walks in six-plus innings. Marco Grifantini (PAR) issued five hits, two runs (1 ER) and two bb in five innings. He struck out seven. Roberto Cabalisti picked up the win, Brian Scarcella took the loss.

After thrilling game, REGGIO EMILIA prevailed 6-5 in eleven innings against NETTUNO. Mattia Reginato was the shining star, plating the two decisive runs in the bottom of the eleventh with a single. Paolino Ambrosino had put DANESI up 5-4 in the top of the frame on a wild pitch. Due to tiebreaker rule, each team started the eleventh with a runner on second and one out. Ambrosino also scored in the ninth on a single by Manny Alexander to force extra innings. Abe Alvarez (EMI) allowed five hits, a run and three walks in six innings. Jeff Farnsworth (NET) surrendered seven hits, four runs (1 ER) and a bb in 7 2/3 innings. He struck out eight. Conrad Orman received the win, Carlos Pezzullo the loss.
