Three Matchups on Thursday kick off another Game Day in Bundesliga

Posted on May 20, 2009 by philipp

Mainz Athletics vs. Mannheim Tornados

Another national holiday (Ascension) in Germany and the German Baseball and Softball Federation has scheduled another double game day in the Baseball-Bundesliga this week. On Thursday the MANNHEIM TORNADOS host the MAINZ ATHLETICS in a duel between third-ranked and fourth-ranked in the southern division standings. Twelve days ago the TORNADOS used a sweep in MAINZ to make a big step towards the playoffs. Tomorrow the A’s hope for the same thing, but with scores in their favor. Both teams will travel to Munich on Sunday to take on the GAUTING INDIANS and the HAAR DISCIPLES. On the days between these matchups, the BUCHBINDER LEGIONAERE defend their perfect record against the SAARLOUIS HORNETS on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.

In the northern division the two leaders have home games on Thursday. The SOLINGEN ALLIGATORS host the DORTMUND WANDERERS. The PADERBORN UNTOUCHABLES hope that they are not rusty versus the PULHEIM GOPHERS after not having played since May 1st. On Sunday, SOLINGEN will play another doubleheader at the Weyersberg, this time against the BONN CAPITALS. The COLOGNE CARDINALS square off with the UNTOUCHABLES. The HSV STEALERS travel to PULHEIM.
