“Youth of Moscow” won the Russian Junior Champion title in the competition held in the beginning of May to open the Russian baseball season. The team managed to overpower the opponents from “SYOS-42, Moscow”, which had been on top for the last several years. In the final series “Youth of Moscow” prevailed in the first game (7-2) and secured the championship win in a very tough second game. The score was tied 3-3 after the 6th inning and thanks to a triple and a game winning RBI of shortstop Artem Kulik the winning run was scored by Solopov Ivan. Bronze medals were gained by the team “Balashikha”. Artem Kulik was awarded as Best Batter (batting average .471) and MVP. Andey Vesenev proved to be the Best Pitcher (ERA 0.00 in 10 innings pitched). Nikita Lebedev showed errorless play and deserved Outstanding Defensive player award.
