This weekend marks the official start of the second half of the regular season in the German Baseball-Bundesliga. SOLINGEN PADERBORN, REGENSBURG and HEIDENHEIM are on a secure path towards the playoffs, though this was never in question even before the start of the season.
MANNHEIM could make a big step on Sunday at home, when hosting fourth-ranked SAARLOUIS. The ATHLETICS, which had lost two important games against the TORNADOS, need two wins over GAUTING desperately. In the north the STEALERS try to stop the ALLIGATORS. DORTMUND plays another day-night doubleheader against the GOPHERS. Two more twin bills are played in Bonn and Heidenheim.
