Laidel Chapelli hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to lead PARMA to a 4-3 win against SAN MARINO. Jhonny Carvajal (2-3, BB, 2 RBI) had reached with a leadoff walk, moved to second on a sac bunt by Orlando Munoz and scored his third run of the game to end seal the victory. T&A had tied the contest in the top of the frame through a RBI double by Martin Vasquez. Ricky Palma (PAR) allowed seven hits, two runs (1 ER) and three walks in seven innings. Horacio Estrada (SMA) also pitched seven innings, conceding four hits, three runs (2 ER) and a bb. Oscar Lira received the win, Luis Ramirez the loss.

BOLOGNA’s Jesus Matos pitched a complete game shutout and led his club to a 5-0 victory over GODO. He gave up just six hits throughout the nine innings, striking out nine. He threw 95 pitches, 76 for strikes. FORTITUDO took the lead in the second frame on a solo homerun by Joseph Mazzuca. They added four more runs in the seventh, highlighted by a bases clearing double of “Mr. 1000” Claudio Liverziani. Emmanuel Ulloa got the loss, allowing three hits, a run and a walk in six innings.
Montepaschi Grosseto – Danesi Nettuno 1-3

NETTUNO prevailed 3-1 in GROSSETO in the TV game on Thursday evening. They scored three runs through five innings on a sac fly by Manuel Gasparri, a RBI single by Dewis Navarro and a solo homerun by Giuseppe Mazzanti. MONTEPASCHI answered with a RBI double by Francesco Casolari in the bottom of the fifth, but wasn’t able to bring more runners over the plate later on. Jeff Farnsworth allowed just four hits, one run and two walks in six innings for the win. Remigio Leal closed it out with four strikeouts in three innings of no-hit relief. Juan Figueroa was charged with the loss after six innings, eight hits, three runs, two bb and seven strikeouts.
