Can Vigo also impress against Tenerife?

Posted on May 1, 2009May 1, 2009 by philipp

After twelve games so far in the 2009 season of the Spanish Division de Honor, the promoted club HALCONES DE VIGO sits comfortable in fourth place of the standings with 8-4 record. This weekend they face another tough opponent, as defending champion and current undefeated leader TENERIFE MARLINS comes to town.

PUERTO CRUZ has out-scored its opponents 118-8 in twelve victories (though 18 runs came through federation ruling against Barcelona). They will send Leslie Nacar and Ivan Granados to the mound and hope for some run production of their four .400 hitters Richard Montiel, Nestor Perez, Daniel Sanchez and Lesther Galvan. Four more hit better than .300. Ronny Malave and Juan Jose Lopez are expected to start for VIGO. Their offense is highlighted by Carlos Sampayo, Franklin Tavarez and Marco Marques. All three have batting averages above the .300 mark.
