by Jan van der Sande – PR/Teammanager of DOOR Neptunus

Yesterday DOOR Neptunus Baseball Rotterdam announced on their website that Outfielder Eugene Kingsale will play for the Rotterdam team next year.

Kingsale played in 50 games for the National Squad. On September 3, 1996, when he was only 19 years old, Kingsale made his Major League-debut with the Baltimore Orioles and went on to play in 211 big league-games. Kingsale also played for the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres. After his professional career in the USA was over, Kingsale
came to the Netherlands and made his debut there in 2006 with Almere.

Next to that news DOOR Neptunus announced that infielders Rien Vernooij and Dwayne Kemp will return to Neptunus. Both players played for Sparta/Feyenoord. Next year the two will make their professional debut. Vernooj signed a contract with the New York Mets. Kemp will sign for the Chicago Cubs.
