Dutch-Playoffs: Kinheim and Pioniers won their second games as well

Corendon Kinheim needed just two strong innings to defeat the Amsterdam Pirates 8-1 on the road. Konica Minolta Pioniers are on the way for a successful upset. They beat DOOR Neptunus 5-0 at home. Both winners lead their playoff series 2-0 each. So they need just one more win to reach the Holland series.

Amsterdam Pirates – Corendon Kinheim 1-8 (0-2)
After five scoreless innings, Kinheim scored three runs in the sixth and took the lead. Dirk VAN’T KLOOSTER and Jeffrey VERBIJ had RBI-doubles. Vince ROOI hit a RBI-single. They added five more in the eighth to decide the game. Denny BELJAARDS, VAN’T KLOOSTER and Rene CREMER got three straight RBI-singles. ROOI completed the scoring for Corendon with a two-run-double.
The Pirates brought just one run on the board in the ninth, when Bjorn HENRICHS plated Fausto ALVAREZ with a single.
David BERGMAN (W 1-0) allowed only four hits and two base on balls in eight innings. Jos DE JONG (L 0-1) gave up five hits, three runs and two walks in 5 1/3 innings.

Konica Minolta Pioniers – DOOR Neptunus 5-0 (2-0)
The Pioniers started strong and scored three runs in the first. Michael DUURSMA got a leadoff-walk. He advanced to third on a throwing error of pitcher Diegomar MARKWELL, who tried to threw him out on second after a bunt from Norbert LOKHORST. DUURSMA reached the plate through Glenn ROMNEY ground out. LOKHORST scored two batters later after a passed ball. Mark DUURSMA doubled in the third run in the first.
Konica Minolta add build up their lead in the eighth through a Mark DUURSMA RBI-single and a Jourick BLANCO sacrifice fly.
The Neptunus Offense was shut down and managed just five hits in this game after three in game one of the series.
Richard ORMAN (W 1-0) allowed only five hits in eight innings. He struck out four. MARKWELL (L 0-1) were charged with four hits, five runs (2 ER) and five walks in seven-plus innings.
