Publish your game updates live thru Twitter on Mister Baseball

Posted on April 9, 2009April 9, 2021 by MrBB

As of this coming weekend, Mister Baseball offers a new service for all Top-League Clubs in European Baseball. Each Club can publish updates of games or final results via the Mister Baseball Twitter Engine immediately after the game or even every inning during the game. Our goal is to give every baseball fan in Europe an extensive coverage of all games in progress during the season . Live and up-to-date infos about games in the Top-European baseball leagues. It is possible to send twitter updates directly from the field via your mobile phone and publish them tou our readers and followers on twitter. However the system will only work in the long run if lots of clubs are participating in the service. There is no easier way to find out about european baseball than on the Mister Baseball Twitter Feed : twitter.com/MisterBaseball In order to publish to our Twitter Engine you must do the following:

  1. If you don’t have already, register an account with Twitter : twitter.com
  2. Once registered, FOLLOW MisterBaseball: Go to twitter.com/MisterBaseball and click the ‘Follow’ button under our pic
  3. Then send an email to twitter@mister-baseball.com and tell us your exact Twitter name
  4. Once we follow you back you are able to send us direct messages

In order to publish your results, send a direct Message via Twitter to MisterBaseball Use the folling format for your message:

d MisterBaseball [IOC Country Code-3-digit CAPITALS only]
[HOME9] - [AWAY] [RUNS_HOME]-[RUNS_AWAY] [(INNING_XX)]
[/ OPTIONAL_COMMENT]

Examples:

d MisterBaseball ITA Nettuno - Parma 05-02 (6) /
3-Run HR by Baggio
d MisterBaseball GER Mannheim - Regensburg 01-09 (Final)

If you do NOT start the direct message with the 3-Digit IOC Country Code we can not parse the message and therefore not publish the result. You are of course limited to Twitters 140 char limit. However, if there are enough chars left at the end of your message we will add your username, so your Twitter account get’s promoted as well. Here you can find a list of all IOC Country Codes Twitter clients for mobile phones (selection)

However this will only work if the teams attend. We will, starting tomorrow!

No promise, but we will try to keep track of the other games in the southern division, too. However, updates will not be that frequent for those games, that’s for sure.

Hope you liked it. As we got the bye tomorrow, we will be back next saturday. Hopefully, some more teams will attend…

Yeah A’s, thank you for the coverage of the Easter games. With respect to other clubs following suit, I’m not quite sure if they are aware of this new feature. Maybe you could endeavour to advertise it?

Btw, I was just wondering if it’s possible to have the tweets sent to your mobile by way of SMS. Does anybody know?

The Twitter SMS-Feature is unfortunately only available in a few countries:
    From the Twitter Page:

If you use your mobile in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, or India you can also receive updates via SMS.
