The 2009 season in Major League Baseball began on Sunday evening, when the Atlanta Braves hit three homeruns by Brian McCann, Jeff Francoeur and Jordan Schafer in the first two frames en route to a 4-1 victory against reigning World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies. It was the opener for a 162-game regular season, which will end in the early days of October, followed by the playoffs. Watch the clip of ESPN for a short preview by Tim Kurkjian.
You can watch MLB games throughout Europe live on ESPN America (check TV listings here) or MLB.tv (new player in HD quality). Commissioner Bud Selig was so kind to schedule European friendly early games on each day until April 20th.
