The group stage of the 2022 U12 European Championship in Vienna, Austria, ended on Thursday, with Czechia and Italy advancing to Friday’s semifinals with undefeated records.
Czechia finished atop Group B after defeating Germany, 16-3, (box score) on the final day of group play, with Italy defeating the Netherlands, 8-2, (box score) to claim the top spot in Group A.
The continent’s perennial powers, who dominated group play with a +92 run differential in the eight games against the other four nations, will face off in Friday’s semifinals, with Germany and Italy meeting on the diamond at 15:00 (CEST). The Dutch and Czechs are scheduled to take the field at 18:00 (CEST).
In the placement round, France (1-2) will take on Hungary (0-3) and Lithuania (1-2) will challenge Austria (0-3).
