Neverauskas Highlights Lithuania’s Extended Roster For 2023 European Championship Qualifier

Posted on May 31, 2022June 8, 2022 by MrBB

The Lithuanian Baseball Federation has announced its extended 40-man roster for the 2023 European Championship qualifying tournament on home soil in Utena on Jul 13-16, with former MLB pitcher Dovydas Neverauskas the marquee name.

The inclusion of Neverauskas, whose professional obligations in the US over the past decade have kept him from donning Lithuania’s national team jersey, give Lithuania a considerable boost as the country seeks to qualify for its first European Championship finals tournament. Back in Europe, Neverauskas, has struck out 23 batters in 10.1 innings, without yet allowing a hit, with Germany’s Bonn Capitals this season.

Lithuania will face Finland, Romania, and Switzerland for the right to compete at the 2023 European Championship.
